PC-Based Industrial Testing Unit Successfully Runs Multiple Applications

One Unit Can Handle Performing Multiple Functions

2/15/2015 - Sandusky, Ohio

A PC-Based Testing Unit has recently been deployed on the 2016 Ford Explorer headlamp assembly line. This install was different than any other Rockbox™ installs to date since it was the first time multiple mission critical applications where simultaeously ran on the same unit. The unit has three applications running in all - one for testing incandescent lights for bad bulbs, one for testing the adaptive front lighting system (AFS) for aiming lights, and one for printing dynamic 2D barcode labels. The unit has been monitored extensively during line initial run-offs and has performed very well. Team Ray Technologies provided PLC integration support. This opens the door for providing an efficient option for assembly line stations requiring multiple high level functions to be performed by a single unit.
